Volunteering

Importance of volunteers

Volunteers are crucial to what we do and we always welcome people who are willing to give up some of their time to help others. Without them we could not exist.

The majority provide advice and information to the public, whilst some do vital administration, research and campaigning work. The roles can be challenging, interesting and most of all rewarding. A structured training programme tailored to each role is provided that involves both self-paced study and in-bureau group sessions.

Our Leaflet offers more information.

TRUSTEES needed for CITIZENS ADVICE COLCHESTER

Citizens Advice service in Colchester is governed and managed locally but with the benefit of being part of a large and influential national organisation. We are now looking for trustees to sit on our trustee board and help steer the service.
These are volunteer roles.

We provide information, advice and advocacy services to the people of Colchester on all subjects, including housing, employment, debt, benefits, relationships, consumer, legal, education, travel, tax etc.

The service is a charity and staffed mainly by volunteers, who are fully trained and supported by a paid staff structure.

We need people from Colchester and the surrounding districts who have a clear understanding of the needs of the local area to help us manage and develop this much-needed service.

We are in equal opportunities employer and strive to achieve diversity in all that we do.

For more information or an informal discussion on the role of trustee, please contact 01206 244832 or send an email request for an application pack to recruitment@colchestercab.org.uk.
